Chris "MooMan" NyaradyCo-Producer & Host
The Muppet-like Chris hails from the east coast where he did many fine things, one of which being a debater on the GvN Prime series in Halifax. However, stubborn as he is, when he had to move across the country he didn't want to say goodbye to the show he loved, so he brought it with him. Now calling himself MooMan, he acts as host and moderator for the West Coast debates.
MooMan has was worked in many fields such as comedy, theatre, film, music, writing and animation. Some of his geeky highlights include owning the first issue of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic, chatting with Weird Al over Skype, and playing Dr. Horrible in the Atlantic Fringe performance of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.
Keegan "N7" Flick-ParkerCo-Producer & Production Manager
Undoubtedly on a path to world domination, Keegan works in event production & management, studies business & marketing at Langara College, and sports a fine beard and moustache!
Over the past decade, he's been developing local independent theatre and arts projects right here in Vancouver, BC. Favourite projects include: directing with the Cultch's Ignite! Youth Festival, producing and directing with Enemies of the Stage, and assistant directing with the United Players. He also Co-Produces with Mad House Productions.
Adam "JigglyDuff" DuffFinance Manager
Raised by wolves in scenic British Colombia's ever diminishing forests, Adam learned all about human society by reading comic books left behind by backpackers and other tourists - when he wasn't hunting for deer with his adoptive family. Eventually, he decided it was time to go and join human society. He was disappointed to find far fewer super heros, and stylish spandex outfits, than he was lead to believe existed in human society.
A regular debater with Geeks versus Nerds since it began in Vancouver, Adam now takes his wit and endless supply of one liners to the role of Finance & Sales Manager. He is a Master Debater, and has the T-shirt to prove it. When he isn't arguing the important topics, Adam enjoys playing all of the video games, watching anything marvel studios, and trains to be a ninja. He also studied Mechanical Engineering at BCIT, and has a fancy degree and everything.
Not bad for the runt of the litter.
Julia LankCasting Director
Julia grew up in a comfortable split-level nutrient pod in Port Moody and has since shed her exoskeleton and started working as a stage manager and graphic designer around Vancouver. In addition to debating with GvN, she performs with Off Key Improv and Instant Theatre's Shakespeare After Dark. And if all else fails, you can find her at UBC pursuing her MA in Theatre Studies and walking up and down the stairs to the beach.
Favourite 'Verses: Trek, Potter, Hitchhiker's Guide, Final Fantasy, Steven Universe, Full Metal Alchemist, Agatha Christie (yeah, she's a verse. You wanna go?)
Paula AguilarCommunity Manager
Actually just a bunch of cats in a trench coat, Paula has been fitting in with humans since she was 12 years old (in cat years). Before she reaches the end of her 9th life, she will return to the cats and tell them all of the humans' weaknesses. Until then, she's enjoying working for GvN, distracting the homo sapiens with laughter and internet memes. Puurrrrr. Prrrprrreow, purrrr-down with the humans, the cats will rise again!
Joshua PendleburyPromotions Manager
Josh rode into Vancouver on the back of a Chocobo at the impressionable age of 19 and promptly spent 10 years living indoors WHERE A NERD BELONGS! Festering over his love of fantasy, sci-fi, tabletop, and video games during that time, he boosted his nerd-cred beyond the physical realm and joined the elite PC master race to live in cyberspace forever. Now he surfs the waves of the web to bring Geeks vs. Nerds the bestest and coolestest in glittering prizes for their epic contests and raffles.
Mark NguyenAudio & Tech Director
As audio and tech director, Mark helps by running the sound during shows, as well as by being in charge of recording and editing the audio for podcasts, amongst other things.
Born in Vancouver and now dwelling within Surrey, Mark has helped in his Dad's small Lower Mainland-based sound system business since 2014. He graduated with a diploma from the (now defunct) PAVI in 2015, where he learned about a bunch of things relating to audio, after which he entered into a tech internship at Tenth Church, just a couple of steps of many as he aspires to enter into the pro audio industry.
When not out and about doing sound things Mark locks himself indoors, mainly preoccupying himself with geeky video games and obscure anime, along with small doses of history-studying, drawing, beard-growing and (poor) instrument playing.
David "Gattaca" GatteyVideo Production Director
He's just like our very own Peter Parker! But without the super strength. Or fancy tights. Or guilt over the death of a loved one. Ok so he's not EXACTLY like PP but he's always got a camera in his hands so you get the idea.
David was born and raised right here in the Lower Mainland and has always had a passion for comic books, movies and overall geekdom. Before joining the Geeks versus Nerds Vancouver ranks, he received a bachelor's degree in Motion Picture Arts from Capilano University. He has worked in various capacities on a number of film and television productions here in Vancouver.
As Video Production Manager, David is tasked with recording the trials and tribulations of each debate. This way, if there are no survivors, the story may still be told. Edited recordings can be found on our shiny Youtube Channel.
